mommy
June marks 2 years since that early morning Grace was placed in my arms as my daughter.
June marks 4 months since I got a phone call asking if I wanted to take care of a 2 month old little boy while his mom had surgery. Little did I know on that 15 minute walk to pick him up that I would be bringing my son Daniel Paul home.

My babies are as much mine as if I gave birth them
myself. But I did not. That much is clear. They both have a mommy who gave
birth to them and a mommy that the Lord entrusted to raise them. I know the Lord used their birth mothers to
bring children to this earth because He has HUGE plans for their lives. I
know this much because the Lord does not makes mistakes. The Lord brought them
to this earth in a way where they were not “wanted” to show them just how much
He loves them. He formed each and every second of their lives into powerful testimonies.
Testimonies that can only be used for HIS GLORY. He made me the humbled
mom of two babies so that I cannot have any pride but I can only say “there is
no way I do this it has to be 100% the Lord!”

Thank you Lord for choosing me to be Grace and Daniel Paul's mommy!
Here are a few attempts at getting a family picture
(FYI: not the easiest thing to get 2 little ones looking at the camera at the same time)

Rainy Day Fun
I don't know if rainy season is starting early or what. We have had rain every day for going on 3 weeks now. One week I was in the hospital with Daniel Paul, one week I was in La Cieba with Grace, and now this week home with a baby and a toddler in a one room apartment. The past 4 days we did everything I could think of when you are stuck in a small area with active children for rainy day fun. So I ask my facebook friends for ideas of things to do. A friend suggest Pinterest. I have not done Pinterest yet -out of desperation for ideas I gave it a shot.
What I found were great ideas for rainy day fun and awesome ideas for Grace's preschool learning
Maybe I do like this Pinterest thing after all.
If your in need of some ideas here are some I websites I liked :

The day after Daniel Paul got out of the hospital Grace and I had to fly to the city to do my residency papers ( I had to be at the office before the 26th). Daniel Paul does not have a birth certificate so he had to stay behind at House of Hope. We traveled with my neighbors the Waits family. We flew 2 hours, spent 6 + hours in a taxi, and 2 hours at the immigration office. Praise the Lord it was a successful day I got my paper and all 4 of the Waits kids received their cards!!
Grace and Arlee taking a nap in the taxi.

First stop in the city Popeys Chicken... Grace didn't know what to do with herself.

next stop immigration office. Arlee entertaining Grace while I talked to the immigration officer.

IT IS OFFICIAL I AM A RESIDENT OF HONDURAS!! This paper says I can pick up my id card in 90 days.

Since we finished everything we came to do the first day and we planned for a 3 day trip.
Grace and I are having a little vacation in a hotel with air conditioning, hot showers, TV, real grocery stores with yummy food, and good Internet.
Grace has enjoyed playing with herself in the mirror.

and swimming with friends

We are off to spend our last day on vacation!!

hospital
A place I have spent way too much time. A place the smell is etched in my brain. A place where I have spent hours in prayer with now both of my children.
Daniel Paul was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday with a bad infection. If all goes well he will get to come home on Saturday. Be praying!! We are ready to have our boy healed and home.
I want to give yall a little glimpse into what the days in the hospital( the only hospital in our ENTIRE region) look like.
Puerto Lempira hospital is a bring your own kind of place. Bring your own sheets, towels if you want to bathe
from a water basin outside, toilet paper, food, etc… You do all the things a
nurse would do in the states, if they do lab work you take the sample to the
lab and then pick up the results and take them to the doctor. Someone must be
there at all times to take care of the patient that is not the nurses job. You
give the patient medicines. You tell the nurse when your baby has a fever. If the doctor needs an extra hand well you might be called on. You are in a room with every other child in pediatric and
their caregiver. Only adults are allowed to visit children ( meaning Grace has to stay with my neighbors so I can take care of DP).
You get very vague answers if any.
Enough if that yuck… heres the real reason I write this:
In a 3rd world hospital pediatric unit with 8
chiildren and 8 mothers :you become one big family of bonded mothers
with sick babies. You watch each others children while one mom goes to run all the hospital “errands” You sit on the end of your child’s bed
and chat with the other women like your are at a spend the night party. We
laugh, we cry, we sleep, we sometimes close our eyes and pinch out noses so we don’t get sick, we
encourage each other.
The hospital in Puerto Lempira might be my last choice of a place to spend my
days but we walk this road along side each other and we are family.
I have been more than blessed and encourage beyond anything I could imagine this week.
The Waits Family, Kayla, and House of Hope have all bonded together and helped in a way I can never thank them enough. I seriously would have been able to do NOTHING without them. They have taken care of my girl during the day, brought me lunch, given me rides, stayed with my boy at night so I can come home to my girl.
The Lord has shown me that as much as they do for me and love on my whole family that He loves on us even more!!!
