Possible

This month the kids are memorizing Luke 18:27

 "What is impossible with man is possible for God."

When I think about that I seriously just sit here in awe.

really in awe.

If anyone would have told me as a 20 year old girl that within a year l would be living in a  3^rd world country and torn between motherhood and finishing school.

I would have said IMPOSSIBLE.

But with the Lord all things are possible.

I look at these children’s faces.

I look into the eyes of a little boy who really gets it. I see a fire in his heart for the Lord that can set all of La Moskitia on fire.

Some say IMPOSSIBLE a little boy who can’t afford school could change La Moskitia.

 I say with God all things are POSSIBLE.

This month 2 other missionary couples brought a team to the Kasaubila Feeding Program for their outreach day.  The kids were so surprised( I did not tell them before) when a big group of gringos showed up not once but twice.

If a few months ago if someone would have told these kids because of Jesus some Americans are going to come and visit you. That because of Jesus a little girl named Riley would ask for all gifts from her birthday to go to kids in Honduras so they would have toys to play with.

They would have said IMPOSSIBLE.

But because of Jesus these kids have sponsors in the States and they have toys to play with.

The majority of the kids in our program live in or have been approved to receive Habitat for Humanity houses.

A few short months ago these same kids dreamed their biggest dreams to have a house. A house that did not fill with water when it rained. They dreamed to have a house they could leave for a few hours without fear that everything they owned would be gone when they returned.
Some might say IMPOSSIBLE especially in this economy that an organization would build 40 homes in LA MOSKITIA.

But, with God ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.

Memory Lane

I took a little trip down memory lane yesterday when I saw Daniel Paul playing

 in this little seat at House of Hope.

I remember almost exactly 2 years ago Grace played in this same seat.

Summer

With "summer"(it is always summer here) come

lots

and lots

of friends I would consider family.

I met most of these friends while living at the House of Hope.

Most of them come back  once a year to volunteer at House of Hope.

 Even though I have spent no more than 3 weeks with any of them we share a deep bond that feels like lifetimes of friendship.

Summer with friends brings:

boat trips to villages to deliver school supplies

Evangelism Outreach Adventure day walking through outlying villages

Worship, Bible Studies, Fellowship IN ENGLISH

A group spending a Saturday with the Feeding Program Kids

A trip to serve with my home church at Forgotten Children's Ministries in the city

LOTS OF SWIMMING and vasitos( frozen milk)!

We went to the beach for her son Aidan's 12th birthday.

In case I have not told y'all enough- I am so thankful for the Waits family!

This was Daniel Paul's first time to go swimming.

Daniel Paul loved playing at the edge of the water in the sand.

After about an hour he was worn out and took a nice long nap in the hammock.

Grace my little water bug swam not stop for 3 hours.

As for brother and sister:

Be praying these next few weeks as we start the process to get Daniel Paul a birth certificate.

And moving from a temporary custody agreement to a forever family!

Be praying for the Lord to touch the heart of the judge.

In between offices and waiting and all that comes along with doing things legal here...

I have a friend teaching me some hair styles for Grace

Here is attempt one

Don't judge the uneven parts.

I am learning!

Since we are talking hair

Daniel Paul got his first hair cut today.

I know he had like a 16th of an inch of hair. Why did he need a haircut?

Well he has this habit of rubbing his head back and forward as he falls asleep.

Which left a nice LARGE bald spot on the back of his head.

I think he still looks mighty handsome.

"The body is a unit though it is made up of many parts, and though all its arts are many, they form on body. So it is with Christ."  1 Corinthians 12:12 

In our women's bible study we are doing the Beth Moore study James.

 Yesterday I was reading the verse above and what Beth Moore continued to say:
" They did not operate alone. In fact, as God would have it, the work of each was incomplete without the other."

I can relate this to each of the missionaries here in La Moskitia and see how without them Root Ministries would be incomplete.

I can also relate this to each of our supporters in The States. Without each of you there is no way we could continue to do what the Lord has called us to do. 



A little over a month ago we launched our 200 for 10 campaign and ask for sponsors for the 42 children in the feeding program.

 within TWO days all 42 children were sponsored

Which means this month we now move the Kasaubila Feeding Program to TWO days a week!!

As for 200 for 10 this past month 140 people have committed to be a part of Root Ministries for a year.

Thank you,  Thank you, Thank you, to those who have committed. I pray the Lord blesses you just as you have blessed us.

We still need 60 more supporters to commit to donate 10 dollars a month for a year.

Praying for Meemaw

Most of you at some point have talked, emailed, and met with Johannah ( Nanna Bug).
 Johannah is a huge voice for the children of La Moskitia and Root Ministries.

Johannah's mom, Meemaw (Shirley Bradley) recently had an unexpected diagnoses of cancer.

 Pray with us for Meemaw.
We serve a God bigger than any cancer.
  A God who is for Meemaw!
We are believing that the Lord will heal Meemaw!

June marks 2 years since that early morning Grace was placed in my arms as my daughter.

June marks 4 months since I got a phone call asking if I wanted to take care of a 2 month old little boy while his mom had surgery. Little did I know on that 15 minute walk to pick him up that I would be bringing my son Daniel Paul home.

My babies are as much mine as if I gave birth them myself. But I did not. That much is clear. They both have a mommy who gave birth to them and a mommy that the Lord entrusted to raise them.  I know the Lord used their birth mothers to bring children to this earth because He has HUGE plans for their lives. I know this much because the Lord does not makes mistakes. The Lord brought them to this earth in a way where they were not “wanted” to show them just how much He loves them. He formed each and every second of their lives into powerful testimonies. Testimonies that can only be used for HIS GLORY. He made me the humbled mom of two babies so that I cannot have any pride but I can only say “there is no way I do this it has to be 100% the Lord!”
